Footwear Product Developer

We are looking for an experienced professional for the role of R&D Footwear Product Developer, where you will be responsible for developing new products and solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will implement and develop visual concepts for the product range and ensure the functionality of technical solutions. You will also ensure that the products perform as intended in their respective environments and remain competitive. We expect you to have experience, for example, in roles such as industrial designer or technical product development specialist.

Your responsibilities will include

• Creating visualizations of new product concepts.
• Producing technical drawings and product measurements.
• Ensuring the accuracy and up-to-date status of technical instructions and specifications.
• Preparing technical documentation, drawings, and 2D/3D models.
• Ensuring compliance of product concepts with requirements.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop new products and solutions or improve existing ones.
• Providing technical support related to products, both internally and externally.
• Developing processes and ways of working.

We expect you to have

• A relevant technical educational background, preferably at a university level.
• Several years of relevant work experience, for example as an industrial designer or technical designer.
• Knowledge of footwear structures, manufacturing, and development.
• Strong 3D design/modeling skills and experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and SolidWorks.
• A structured and organized way of working, with the ability to efficiently drive product development projects forward.
• A proactive and change-oriented mindset.
• A good understanding of customer needs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and argumentation skills.
• Fluency in English, Finnish language skills are considered an asset ; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Ability to work in an international environment.

Experience in the footwear industry and knowledge of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sector are considered an advantage.

The role starts as agreed in autumn 2026. The position is located at the Jalas footwear factory in Jokipii. Partial remote work is possible, but we expect you to be present at the factory at least three days per week. The role requires willingness to travel in Europe and Asia.
